Dr Sonia Andreou is a graduate of the Cyprus University of Technology in the field of Graphic and Multimedia Arts. She continued her studies at the University of Essex (U.K.), obtaining an MA in Art History and Theory. Sonia recently completed the PhD program in Semiotics and Visual Communication, of the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts, Cyprus University of Technology where she is currently being employed. Her research interests include semiotic analysis and visual communication, with the aid of sociological theories, as well as their interpretation through a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. Her work has been presented at international conferences and published in various academic journals. She is a member of the International Association for Semiotic Studies (IASS-AIS), and Semiotics and Visual Communication Lab of the Cyprus University of Technology.
