Matthew Caley is primarily a poet, though has a history in design and art and design education. Thirst [ Slow Dancer, 1999] was Nominated for The Forward Prize for Best First Collection. Since then he’s published four more collections, the most recent being Rake [ Bloodaxe, 2016]. Previously, he was in a graphic design partnership East Orange – who designed Prefab Sprout’s debut LP Swoon amongst other things. He was Senior Lecturer and MA Pathway Leader in art + design for over thirty years teaching all levels from Foundation to Phd Supervision. He was External for Dissertations across courses at Ravensbourne Art College for 5 years. He wrote for and co-edited Pop Fiction : The Song in Cinema [Intellect, 2005] with Steve Lannin. He has collaborated with artists and musicians. He has tutored for The Poetry School in London and is currently Associate Lecturer in Contemporary Poetry/Creative Writing at St Andrews University, Fife, Scotland. He lives in London, Gt Britain.
